Deborah Lee – “Now What?”

April 19, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EDT

This talk chronicles the incomplete journey of a career shift from design into freelance illustration. Deborah will provide insight into their projects, struggles, process, and the illustration world at large that may intersect with the design industry as well.

This edition of the Design Lecture Series will be hosted on Google Hangouts. Please RSVP below in order to recieve the login information prior to the lecture:

Deborah Lee (she/they) is a Korean-American freelance illustrator and graphic novelist. A graduate from the School of Design in 2018, they have shifted their focus into editorial and publishing illustration, where they have worked with clients such as The New Yorker, NPR, PBS, Washington Post, Harper Collins Books, Procreate App, and more. Deborah’s work explores the nuances of trauma, mental illness, and (of course) diaspora. Their debut graphic novel, IN LIMBO, is publishing from First Second Books (an imprint of Macmillan Publishers) in Spring 2022.
