SUMMARY:SIGCHI EC April Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Our SIGCHI Executive Committee Meeting will take place on April 20\, at 12pm UTC (Zoom link). This will be a short EC meeting where we will go over the following items: \nAndrew Kun (VP Finance) will update us on the EC policy around alcohol spending that was discussed in our last meeting. (3 mins) \nNaomi Yamashita (VP at Large) and Matt Jones (VP Chapters) will give quick overviews of the committees they have recently formed—the Asia SIGCHI Committee and Chapters Committee\, respectively. (3 mins) \nLuigi De Russis (AC Community Support) will go over updates regarding the SIGCHI Development Fund and the upcoming developments around the Futuring SIGCHI Committee\, which we recently posted about on SIGCHI-Members and is presented in this blog post. (4 mins) \nWe have a call out for a special issue of Interactions to commemorate SIGCHI’s 40 years. Susan Dray (AC Partnerships) is coordinating this special issue\, and will go over the EC’s plans for it. Time-permitting\, we will present other ideas that we have for this year’s celebration. (5 mins) \nStacy Branham (AC Accessibility) will go over proposed bylaws edits to include a VP for Accessibility. We welcome input and feedback. (5 mins) \nCale Passmore (AC Equity) and Pejman Mirza-Babaei (VP Publications) will briefly introduce their plans to introduce committees in support of their roles. (5 mins) \nNeha Kumar (President) will give an overview of EC events to participate in at CHI22. (5 mins) \n***\nThe EC conducts public meetings on a monthly basis. These take place virtually on Zoom. We welcome participation from members\, within time constraints. We will be providing a video recording and meeting notes for all meetings on our website. \nPlease let us know (via email: sigchi-access@acm.org) if you have specific accessibility requests\, and our Accessibility Committee will do their best to accommodate them. We also aim to provide SLI at all meetings.
